2015 CBVFD & Ladies Auxiliary Installation of Officers

CBVFD and the Ladies Auxiliary proudly celebrated our accomplishments throughout 2014 at our Annual Installation of Officers Ceremony. It was a wonderful evening that included a delicious dinner prepared by members a great guest speaker Mike Jones Deputy Fire Chief City of Fredericksburg the sharing of funny memories some serious moments i.e. our members that are battling sickness detailed recollection of the old CBHS fire well deserved award presentations and all around fantastic comradery We are so proud of our membership active andor life We thank everyone that was able to join us in this celebration and as always we are truly grateful for the continued support from our town and Westmoreland County A special shout-out to Westmoreland Volunteer Fire Department for filling in for us so that we could enjoy ourselves. Here are a few highlights from the night Special Award In honor of her late mother firefighter Tina Fenwick presented Chief Robey and the department with a personalized Ladder Foot Cover FirefighterCaptain Chris Saulnier was present an awesome corn hole board set in appreciation for all of his efforts to enhance interdepartmental socialization. The CBVFD Ladies Auxiliary recognized outgoing president Jackie Worrell for her efforts during the three years she held the position. She also received her Life Membership. The auxiliary presented a check to Fire Chief Robey from their fund raising efforts over the year including a generous donation for 15000.00 Top 5 Call Runners Out of 898 total calls 1st Place Billy Sanford with 599 calls 2nd Place Ricky Little with 457 calls 3rd Place Jason Gonzales with 340 calls 4th Place Martel Kelly with 298 calls 5th Place Branden Robey with 259 calls Chiefs Award Frances Bowen received the Chiefs Award for the selfless amount of time she dedicates to the department and the tremendous amount of work she does behind the scenes. Frances is also a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Outgoing Assistant Fire Chief of 14 years Mike Worrell was recognized for his time commitment with a special trophy his fire helmet. Firefighter of the Year as voted by membership William Billy Sanford Sr. Lifesaving Awards for removing an unconscious individual from within a structure fire on 22 November 2014 David Robey Billy Sanford Robert Owens Jim Jett Jason Gonzales Danny Oursler Eddie Blunt Chris Saulnier Mike Worrell CBPD Officer Lt. Byron Bailey CBPD Officer Sgt. Les Parsons Special Recognition Awards by Chief Robey on behalf of CBVFD were presented to CB Volunteer Rescue Squad accepted by CBVRS member Pat Fitzgerald CB Police Department accepted by CBPD Officer Lt. Byron Bailey Westmoreland County Sheriffs Office accepted by Sheriff C.O. Balderson Lifetime Membership Awarded to Frances Bowen was presented her award by her daughter Katie Collins Tina Fenwick was presented her award by her father Roy Fenwick First time in departments history to have not one but two women awarded life membership David Robey was presented his award by his wife Joyce Robey his son fellow firefighter Branden Robey Fire Chief Robey gave a detailed review of the actions taken by CBVFD in response to the old CB High School fire on 5 January 2014. Certificates of Appreciation were given to 15 departments that provided support in battling the fire. Westmoreland County Sheriff C.O. Balderson on behalf of the WC Sheriffs Office presented three certificates of appreciation 1 to Chief Robey for being committed to maintaining an effective working relationship with the Sheriff. 2 to CBVFD for providing exceptional service while assisting the WC Sheriffs Office during 2014. 3 to CBVFD Ladies Auxiliary for their service while assisting the WC Sheriffs Office during 2014.
