Single Vehicle Into Pole

 March 17, 2013

pEngine Company 1 was dispatched at 2314 hours to Monroe Bay Ave.nbspfor a report of a vehicle into a pole. Engine 15 responded quickly with a crew of 3 and following was Utility 1 with a crew of 2. Upon arrival Engine 15 found a single pick up truck into a powerline pole with the occupant still inside. Chief 1 took command of scene and advised the occupant to stay inside the vehicle due to the live wires and transformer on the truck. The power company was notified on an emergency basis and responded quickly to cut the power to the pole on the vehicle. Once the power was cut the occupant was removed from the vehicle but refused medical care. Engine 15 and Utility 1 stayed on scene to assist with the removal of vehicle by towing service. Engine Company 1 units marked in service at 0328 hours. Additional thanks goes to CBVRS and CBPD for assisting with scene management.p
