pAt around 0830 on the morning of Tuesday December 21st Engine Company 1 4 and Rescue Station 1 were alerted of a structure fire in the area of Westmoreland Shores. Crews quickly responded bringing Engine 15 Chief 1 with 4 and Tanker 1Capt. 1 driver only. Chief 1A arrived on scene just as Engine 15 pulled up to the house. Crews from Engine Company 4 were already on scene and had pulled a handline to the front door. Crews from Engine 15 advanced the line into the structure while Chief 1 took quotMonticello Drive Command.quot Crews had a difficult time finding the seat of the fire due to the layout of the house and the amount of items in the house. Once found the fire was quickly extinguished. Crews remained on scene for around one hour performing salvage and overhaul operations before going back in service. At around 1400 hours Engine Company 1 4 2 and Rescue Station 1 were dispatched for a chimney fire located on Kings HighwayRt.3. Crews from Engine Company 1 responded within minutes of being dispatched bringing Tanker 1Chief 1 with 4 and Truck 1Chief 1B with 4. Once on scene Truck 1 backed into the driveway to provide easy access to the roof for ventilation and suppression operations. Crews from Tanker 1 Truck 1 and Tanker 2 vented the roof and removed the ceiling in the area of the chimney to expose what little fire was left in the attic area. After remaining on scene for around 30 minutes to perform salvage and overhaul operations all units went back in service.p
